We’re back! It’s Rachel and Karin, your favorite Reputation Defenders at your service. We’ve just stepped out of the ring to share some inside-the-ropes information about Yellow Pages.
Has your business ever received a negative review on YP that wasn’t from an actual customer? How about one that was harmful, offensive, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, profane, hateful, well, you get the idea. We’re going to give you a blow-by-blow description of how to get these negative reviews removed because the low ratings could be hurting your online reputation.
Now, keep in mind that your business is bound to get legitimate negative reviews every once in a while and we highly recommend that you address them quickly. You already know how to respond to “regular” negative reviews but let’s talk about how to remove those less-common negative reviews. Remember, WebPunch is in YOUR corner and we’re here to help you knock out your competition, one review at a time.
Believe it or not, YellowPages is actually more likely to remove these suspicious reviews than many of the other review sites. However, the onus is on you to prove that the review has in some way violated Yellow Pages’ Terms of Service and Use, meaning you can’t just flag any old review for removal.
If or when you come across a review that appears to violate the guidelines outlined here, follow these steps:
Step 1: Log into your Yellow Pages account.
Step 2: Click the blue “Flag” underneath the review that you would like to have removed.
Step 3: Enter your email address followed by the reason you are reporting the review as abuse. You will then be given choices as to which review guideline you believe has been violated.
Step 4: Click the bright yellow “Submit” button after you’ve entered the CAPTCHA code provided.
Step 5: Now it’s time to practice some deep breathing while you wait for Yellow Pages to respond. We believe that it’s always a good idea to craft a response to the review just in case YP comes back with a no.
Requesting removal of a negative review on Yellow Pages is a quick and easy process so you’ll want to take the time to report them if they come up. Your star-rating on Yellow Pages will thank you.
