Keeping with Tradition – and Reputation
Santa Claus, Jolly Old St. Nick, Kris Kringle—whatever you call that guy on the sleigh with his reindeer—he goes way back and surely knows his way around a gift. However, Santa Claus hasn’t always had the appearance that we’ve come to know and love. He comes from a long line of folkloric gift-givers and has been transformed over time as different cultures add to his story and essence. At his core though, he’s always been big on giving.
